Changes & Challenges:
- I added many AI images. I played with a custom prompt to try and make professional vector graphics with a consistent theme. Many of the individual images felt usable on their own, but I couldn't get them to adopt consistent colors throughout my module. I would love if it listened when I said to use a certain hex code as the primary color. I was bummed that the resolution for AI images isn't high enough for full screen or cover images.
- I played with all the AI text modifications to see if I could improve the writing. The tone and summarization features worked quite well. Unfortunately, the formatting prompt to change a bolded words to another color didn't work. Please fix this feature! π It would save my team so much time when applying our brand colors. I wish we could apply it to an entire course instead of just individual blocks.
- I converted plain text to more engaging block types. This is a nice feature that gets us to where we want to go much faster. It takes us about 75% there and we can do the final tweaking, which is still helpful.
Most Valuable AI Features, IMO :
- AI TTS for Storyline hands-down makes this subscription worth it. The time we save on recording audio narration and syncing captions is immense.
- Rise's instant convert saves us time making our blocks more engaging.
- Text tools are helpful for changing tone or simplifying text.
AI Disclaimer [Proceed with Caution]:
- I personally feel like anyone who gets access to AI needs to solemnly swear to closely fact-check anything generated by AI before itβs published, haha. It worries me that it will be used haphazardly, making our poor learners read through irrelevant slop. I still strongly believe that we need true instructional designers guiding these tools to identify whatβs best for our learners.
Thanks for including me in your cohort. I appreciated the opportunity to dive deeper into these tools.
