3 changes I made:
- Used the instant convert to change block types that I felt weren't as appropriate for the content given. (i.e. if it was a process, I wanted to have a process block, not flip cards)
- Changed the tone of the lessons to "casual".
- Added AI audio to introduce the objectives of each lesson.
Most valuable features:
- Instant convert - saves so much editing time
- Using text to create an AI image prompt - LOVED this!
- AI assistant quiz creation - this is one that was a huge time-saver and will be used frequently going forward.
Challenges:
- As I saw in another post, I wish there was a way to upload an image as a reference when creating other images. When I just asked it to create an image that I wanted to match another one, it never seemed to get the correct layout or color-matching to the previous one when I wanted a series of matching images (for flip cards, as an example). Being able to upload the first image and say "generate an image exactly like this, but change the title to..." would be amazing!
- Sometimes the AI text editor would take several tries to get what I was looking for when using the given prompts such as "make shorter". At times it would literally just remove 1-2 words so I would either have to click it multiple times or would need to make my own prompt to say shorten it to one sentence or less than 20 words, etc.
- When generating AI audio, after getting the first version there were times I would want a second option to compare to, but it doesn't let you regenerate the audio again without changing something in the text box. So I had to resort to deleting the period and re-adding it to get a new version to review. Since the filtering options with the v3 aren't many, there was no way to control the speed of the speech or enunciations in different places. It would be nice to have something that could allow for slightly more editing of the voices in the v3 option.

Thanks for sharing JenniferWaltke! I like the peaceful green colors in your course. The audio addition to the objectives was a nice idea. I love the quiz creation feature in the AI Assistant as well. One thing I would caution you about is fill-in-the-blank questions should only be used when there is only one correct answer. I entered the word "discussion" when you were looking for "conversation" and so it was marked incorrect. Also, I always need to verify that the questions are properly set up. For example, boxes indicate a multiple-response quiz, whereas radio buttons indicate a single correct answer. AI tends to randomly assign the format. I have seen this in quite a few quizzes. So I just wanted to alert you to not accept it at face value. Great work!

3 Changes I made:
- Converted introduction text into a story using AI Assistant. Then used a custom block with AI audio to narrate the "hook" of the story to engage the learners.
- Converted 3-4 different text blocks into different block types. Used AI Asst for the gallery block to generate AI images (editorial based on Tom's recommendation for consistency). Converted text into image and text block and then AI generated image.
- I added AI imagery behind certain blocks. Added AI audio to some knowledge check blocks.
Valuable AI Features
- Most valuable feature for me is the instant convert.
- Enjoyed using the tips to expand AI assistant use by asking it what you really want. Liked how I asked it to turn text into a story.
Challenges
AI images can be hard to get consistent. Tom's tip to use the editorial style helped me to get more consistency.

Your course is amazing - I love how you set up the whole experience and the conversational language that you used. I have a design meeting with my team next week - I would like to use your course as an example of innovated ways to use Rise. Please let me know. It's fantastic! 🙂

You really brightened my day DianneTomko-228 ! Absolutely, feel free to show this example!

LOVE this! Love the image theme -- especially the dinosaur outside the office window image! That was my favorite! Also really liked your "parting thoughts" audio that you included at the end! Could not locate a quiz but really enjoyed all of the interaction! You rocked it!

- The 3 changes I made are adding a custom block with audio, I think it gives the learner something to listen to vs just reading the whole time. I added an AI graphic to support the pillars and some photos for the flashcard to visualize what the flashcard is prompting them to do.
- The instant convert is probably the best feature along with the new manage blocks feature. I used those both frequently in a set of courses I just completed for my job.
- The biggest challenge is finding the wording for your prompt to get it to produce what you want. Another challenge is making sure to check everything that AI has produced for accuracy.

You have created a great course. I really love the block Supporting Individualized Growth and Development. The layout and image with the headphones and audio is very cool. How did you create that? Storyline?

I don’t use Rise very often, but this course gave me the perfect chance to throw on the cape, fire up the AI gadgets, and see what kind of superhero magic I could make with the content, tone, and imagery.
So yes, I went a little silly.
⚡ SHAZAAM! ⚡
I asked Rise AI to make the course superhero-themed, and it definitely answered the call in the content. The images, however, apparently missed the Bat-Signal. I had to swoop back in, rescue the visuals, and swap them out myself.
I also added AI-generated images to the flashcards, which was a new power unlocked for me. I added audio using AI text-to-speech too. That part wasn’t new, but I did discover there were way more voice options hiding in the secret lair than I realized.
The biggest “holy time-saver, Batman!” moment for me was learning how to sync text to audio in Storyline.
Thank you for that tip — it is officially going in my superhero utility belt. 🦸‍♀️⚡

This was a fun, interactive activity! Everything was very easy to follow and understand. Love how quick and efficient this is for creating eLearning content!- Share 3 changes you made: Condensed text, added interactions, and added images.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable: Love the edit text features -- especially changing tone and minimizing text.
- What challenges: Initially I forgot to click "replace" before x'ing out of the box, so that was a quick learn. Other than that, just getting the AI feature to match what I want in the content.

3 changes I made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement:
- I used the “open with a hook” strategy to provide an opening story to emphasize the importance of building positive teams.
- I noticed that AI Assistant used very similar structure for each of the lessons, so I added a little variety to the types of interactive blocks (ex: replaced an accordion block with a tabs interaction and added a sorting activity at the end of a lesson to assess understanding) so that each lesson didn’t look identical in structure.
- I added AI images to flashcards to increase visual interest.
Because I can’t choose just one, the AI features I found most valuable were:
- Being able to select text from the course and turn it into an AI image prompt. This gave a great starting point to really generate a relevant image.
- I loved being able to instantly convert a block of text to an interactive block. This is such a time saver and I can see myself using this frequently.
- Over the years, I’ve spent literal hours adjusting timelines to sync animation with audio in Storyline, so I love that AI Assistant does this for me now!
Challenges I faced:
- I couldn’t get the text formatting feature to work. AI Assistant bolded the words for me but would not change the color, so I had to do that manually.
- When I generated the quiz using AI, I asked for a variety of types of questions, but it gave me just multiple choice and multiple response questions, and the multiple response questions only had one correct answer choice (which essentially made them multiple choice questions).

My AI generated quiz questions were the same. Definitely a good starting point though.

I'm still working on my project, but I wanted to give a quick thank you to AlyssaGomez for extending the deadline for this cohort. I had all good intentions to finish today, but between sick leave and some new urgent customer issues, it isn't happening. I truly appreciate the extra time given - watch for my project next week!

Hi all from Maine! It has been a WEEK and I have loved having this exercise to do in the few moments between chaos. I can definitely feel more confident in playing around with the functions and features in Rise, and especially with the AI tools!
https://share.articulate.com/i382hysLZKHY4_lRCJ2wa
My changes are mainly in the first lesson. I spent a lot of time just trying new things (the "what does this button do?" style of clicking) and also broke the AI Avatar generator when I tried to put my construction worker on the surface of the moon. I left her at the construction site for now. I don't have a work related use for construction workers and figured this was my chance!
Changes I made:
- Of course had fun tweaking AI generated photos and adjusting the prompts. I didn't realize how much could be done with the prompting and the style!
- Used the AI instant convert tool to quickly create different interactions and decide which worked best for that topic.
- AI helped me make knowledge check questions and a final quiz - this is a game changer for me. So much time has been spent reading through the SME's materials to draft a knowledge check question! I love being able to select exactly the topic or materials to use/target.
AI Feature
I've already talked up the knowledge check tool - so, I'll also give a shout-out to the instant convert. When it's hard to visualize how the interaction will fit into the flow, the ability to quickly mock up 'version 1' drafts of interactions to try out is fabulous. I also found myself going deeper into the Edit with AI menu just to play with how the changes would look. The ability to quickly duplicate and delete blocks (as well as move them between lessons!) is such an organizational lifesaver!
Challenge
My biggest challenge remains feeling comfortable being creative with the AI prompts. It's a big change from just typing in a keyword to find a stock image - the endless possibilities are a bit overwhelming to consider. I started a Rise course just to save various image prompts and visually see how the slight style tweaks changed the generated image. I do think that giving myself a space to play and continue to be curious will be an effective way for me to build my confidence in this regard.
Thank you for this cohort! The lessons were great and I really enjoyed the opportunity to be curious!

Coming in hot on Friday afternoon from rainy Seattle....
Just finished my course! You all are so creative, I feel like I didn't do that much. But here it is:
https://share.articulate.com/2kUsvwdlYjfB_kWY_TIub
Three things I used that I really liked:
- I kind of combined the hook and audio into one by taking a block of text and turning it into a first-person story about their management approach with AI. Then I popped it into a multimedia block with a photo, audio and text and turned the text into an audio file. And voila! a manager's testimonial of transforming her leadership!
- Some of the interactive blocks are so fun to work with but I wasn't sure if AI would be able to turn a block of text directly into a card sorting activity so I did two steps: 1. turn a block of text into a list of on-track and off-track examples of behavior. Once I had that, it was easy to create a card sorting activity to differentiate them.
- I started a prompt library course with my favorite custom image prompts. I'm especially fond of the one that makes images that look like art deco advertisements from the 1920's!
AI feature I want to use more of:
Converting blocks for sure! Also there are some audio syncing things I want to work more with. I'm glad the practice modules are now in my Rise platform so I can come back for a refresher when I need it!
I wish we were able to reference other blocks instead of having to copy and paste text. That would make AI go faster!
