AI image function only giving me images of white men
I've tried "diverse," "multicultural," "non-white" to generate an image of a middle-aged man thinking in a modern office, and I'm getting all but one white dude. I've already used a picture of a middle-aged white person and want to portray the diversity of my workplace, but this feature is not helping. I used similar prompts for the female images and had no issue. In the image below, you can see that the prompt is a "non-white middle-aged man in a modern office, thinking," created four white dudes. The AI needs some refinement regarding this issue.

I should add that my company's policy is not to use specific ethnic labels in search prompts because of AI's potential to rely on unflattering stereotypes when generating images. We were advised to use words like "diverse" and "multicultural." I only ended up using "non-white" in the prompt to see what would happen, as I kept getting images of white dudes.

BenjiLukas: That is disturbing. Ideally, any prompt that doesn't specify race/ethnicity would return a diverse batch of images. Alas, like the real world, AI isn't ideal...
And it seems when you use "non-white," AI only pays attention to the "white" part.
I can understand your company wanting to avoid unflattering stereotypes. I think that admirable goal could be accomplished even if you use ethnic labels in AI prompts. It just requires you as a human to evaluate the resulting images.
Here are a couple examples I got with AI in Rise:
