Branching and Hiding Lessons
I'm creating courses for onboarding curriculum that would be used by staff in both our domestic and international markets. For some courses, the content will vary slightly based on location. Ideally we'd like to keep all of the content in the same course and use button stacks to create branching for learners to navigate to only the content that is relevant to their location. Is there a way to hide these lessons from the menu? Removing the menu entirely is not an option as we're going for consistency with the look and feel of the courses and every other course we've published has the menu. I have seen several threads similar to this one but most of them were from 7-8 years back so I'm hoping there's been a breakthrough with features or workarounds that I haven't found yet!

Hi AlysonSerna I'm afraid the built in player Menu is not dynamic in this way. You cannot affect the contents of the menu based on a user selection (variable for example).
Somebody may have a solution for you, but it is likely to include some script that would hide the menu options based on the value of a variable that is set when the user selects their path.

I have worked with Storyline for 10 years now and have never used the Player UI as a feature in any module. everything has been built-in to each module - Menus, Resource pages, navigation, etc - which has been a challenge but it allowed for hyper flexibility regarding presentation of information in branching modules.
This week is the first time I have worked with a client who insists on the Player Menu and THIS request of hiding Menu items depending on choices made is the very thing they are looking for.
So, imagine my shock and (not) surprise to find that this ... very basic feature... this fundamental ability... is not available directly, but only achievable through the use of Javascript.
Incredible.
