Change font for individual words/phrases?
I'm new to Rise, and the content I'm working with is targeted at software developers. It's standard in this type of documentation to use a monospace font whenever referencing a literal word in computer code. For instance, in the phrase "You use the document object," the word "document" would appear in a monospace font, while the rest of the sentence would remain in a more readable variable-width font.
I haven't found a way to change the font of specific words/phrases in Rise. Is there a way to do this? And if not, is on the roadmap to roll out in the future?

Has there been any progress made on this limitation? I’ve had several requests to change the font of individual words or phrases for branding purposes. It would be wonderful if this feature was embedded in the inline formatting tool (including the ability to replace with a customized, branded font).
Hi CassieFroemming,
I understand how this could be limiting, especially for technical or branded content where specific formatting like monospace fonts or custom styling is important.
Currently, Rise 360 doesn’t support applying different fonts to individual words or phrases within a text block. Font choices are applied at the theme level, which means inline font variation isn’t available through the formatting toolbar.
I can see why having more flexibility directly in the inline formatting options would make a big difference here. I’ve added your use case to our existing tracking so our product team can continue to evaluate this need.

Having the ability to change the font for specific words or sentences in text would be a great addition to Rise. For someone creating software development training, this is a must-have feature. Rise is great, helping us create much more engaging content, but as an organization focused on IT-related training, we are currently limited in the type of content we can create in Rise because of this particular missing feature.

Hello, is there any other way?
Workaround with bold/italic font substitution is not working for me because I use both for their intended purpose.Hi Ivan! I see you've also posted here.
We're currently tracking requests for the ability to replace fonts inline using the formatting toolbar. If we make any changes to this we'll let you know!- KellyReed-d7849Community Member
Hi Renz, I also need this feature for technical training. Any updates on whether it's on the roadmap for Articulate?
Awesome! Keep me posted, and let me know if it works for you!

That is smart and would probably work just fine for my purposes. I'll give it a go.
Thanks much!
Hi Sasha, thanks for your question!
Right now, Rise 360 doesn't have a feature that will allow you to change the font of individual words or phrases. However, I saw a neat workaround from a community member that may work for you, especially if you're using a custom font throughout the course.
- Go to Settings > Customize Theme.
- Click on Manage custom fonts.
- Click the pencil icon to edit the font you're using.
- Choose one of the font styles that you don't need, and delete it. For example, you may not need Italics in your course. Click the trash icon to delete that font style.
- In the Italics space, replace the deleted font style with the WOFF file of the monospace font.
- Click Save.
Now, anytime you need to use the monospace font, simply highlight the text and click the Italics button.
What do you think? Would that work for your course?
