Disappearing buttons when swiping too quickly.

I have been having issues with customized buttons. I've have been using transparent shapes as "Hotspots" so I am able to disable the "hotspot" when needed.
After doing some testing with a "faster" hover event, I found that pretty consistently the object under the "hotspot" would disappear.
To eliminate any possible conflict, I created a custom hover and a custom disabled state to the object. Each of these states are incorporating animation as has been discussed here on the board previously.

It seems that if the animation has not completed before the mouse exits "hover", the object disappears until the next hover over the hotspot (invisible).

Is this something that I am doing wrong, or am I not able to use state animations?

I've attached a simple example of what I'm trying to do. This can be seen by allowing the state animations to complete.
