Is there an easy way to implement a drop-down list in Storyline?
I could use one for a project I'm developing, but I don't see it among the Interactive Objects on the Insert tab. Of course, I guess I could build one from a scrolling panel, clickable hotspots, and some animations, but honestly that seems like a lot of trouble for a simple drop-down list. It just seems like the kind of basic control that should be supported out of the box. Any ideas?

This one is one of my favorites:

It even includes a free template.
Blake thanks for those suggestions for Greg. Hope that helps you out and that both of you have a great day!

why are there so many old threads - is it still difficult to do this in latest version?
Hi Kevin,
We have a couple of built-in options for drop-down graded questions:
- Matching Drop-Down
- Sequence Drop-Down
If you are looking to create a regular interaction, this article from Nicole may help get you started:

Can the link be updated? FYI - I am looking for a way to build a drop-down menu for navigation between simulation steps. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

Hello
In Articulate Storyline, there's no direct drop-down list option available, but you can replicate this functionality using shapes, buttons, and triggers. For a simple solution, you can simulate the drop-down effect with a scrolling panel or use states and triggers to show and hide options as needed. This method avoids the complexity of using animations or multiple layers, making it an efficient workaround for basic drop-down interactions.
