Limit Drag Item to a Specific Area on the Slide
I'm using a freeform slide to allow a learner to drag an object around. Is there any way for me to limit the area on the slide that the learner can drag that object? For example, the object can only be dragged within a box.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Jay
Hi Jay,
Thanks for reaching out!
There isn't a way to restrict the drag area of an object in a slide, but this sounds like a great feature to have in Storyline 360!
I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!

Thanks for the feedback, Joe.
I'll submit a feature request and see what happens.
Merry Christmas.

There is a sample that may give you some ideas in this thread:
Like Joe says, there is no way to physically stop your mouse from entering forbidden areas while dragging an object, but you can prevent the dragged object from entering them.

Thanks much for this info Walt, I think I can make this work. I can set a first intersect that displays a warning that the learner is leaving the area and then a second that snaps them back.
I appreciate the help. Merry Christmas!
Jay
