Misalignment of objects: Editor vs Preview views

Hi all

I have created my own radio buttons (instead of using SL's built-in radio buttons).

In the editor view, the red dot within the black circle is perfectly centre aligned (I used the alignment tools to do this).

However, when I preview the slide, the red dot looks off-centre within the black circle.

Screenshots of both views attached.

Any idea why this might be and what I could do to fix it up?

thanks in advance for any help!

  • Hi Thinkaway,

Thanks for sharing the screenshots, they make the issue clear! Nice work building your own radio buttons.

What you’re seeing is pretty common. The preview can render shapes a little differently than the editor because it runs in a browser environment. Browsers apply anti-aliasing to smooth edges, and that can make small elements like your red dot look slightly off-center even when they’re perfectly aligned.

A few quick things to try:

    • Check that both shapes are on whole-pixel coordinates (no decimals in the X or Y position).
    • Test with your display scaling set to 100%, or preview on your primary monitor.
    • If it still looks off, try grouping the shapes so they move as one, or if you’re just using them for visuals, save them together as an image or SVG. That can help the preview keep everything lined up.

That should keep the red dot centered in both edit and preview views.
