Need a Storyline Quiz Reset Expert Please

So... I have a quiz that has multiple attempts.  If the learner fails the quiz three times, they are taken to the lesson that contains the answers.  At the end of that lesson, the Learner needs to try to take the quiz again.

I can not get the quiz to reset.  When I set all question slides to Reset to Initial, it won't let me select the answers, and If I select Automatically decide, the answer the learner chose before is still there.

Is this a missing setting or can i fix this with variables?  I've been fighting this for 3 hours.  Thanks!

  • Hey Kristina! I assume your course also contains a results slide? You may also need to add a trigger to 'Reset Results' to scrub the last answers.

This article and video tutorial might help?

  • FYI, here's what I recommend for the “When revisiting” setting in Slide Properties:

    • Keep "Automatically decide" for graded-question slides. Storyline will know whether to reset the slide (when the user needs to answer the question) or resume it (when reviewing).
    • For other slides, change the setting to ensure it does what you want.
