Next Button State is Normal at Beginning of Timeline
Storyline 360 Build 3.102.35072.0.
I've seen similar posts on setting triggers for the NEXT button, but I can't seem to find one that quite matches my issue.
I have mostly been updating existing Storyline files and recently tasked with creating new projects from scratch. I am having an issue with the NEXT button appearing in its NORMAL state when the timeline starts on every new project I create. So far, I have compensated by using triggers when the timeline starts and ends.
From all online Storyline information, the NEXT button SHOULD NOT APPEAR until the timeline ends by default. Another employee on my team does not have the same issue with the NEXT button appearing before the end of the timeline. I am thinking 2 things:
- There is a global Storyline property setting that I may have set without realizing it.
- There is an application conflict with a different application that is affecting the state of the NEXT button to disregard the objects and timeline duration created on the slides.
I have attached the following:
- Storyline 360 Timeline Issue.story
- Storyline 360 Timeline Issue Timeline Screen Shot.jpg
- Storyline 360 Timeline Issue Preview Screen Shot_Slide 1.jpg (Note: In the screen shot, the player is still in the middle of playing the objects on the timeline.)
- Storyline 360 Timeline Issue Preview Screen Shot_Slide 2.jpg (Note: In the screen shot, the player is still in the middle of playing the objects on the timeline.)
Any insights on how I can resolve or helpful information to assist in determining if there is an application conflict that is causing this to occur.

There are 2 ways to restrict the learner from just clicking through the slides. 1 is to lock the next button by going into the player in the top tool bar, then click on the litter gear under the menu and change the Menu to Locked. This will lock the next button until the timeline finishes. The other method would be to use 2 triggers. 1 to hide the next button when the timeline starts and the other to show it when the timeline ends. The first is a global setting, the second needs to be done on each slide.
Good luck

Posting copies of the same question can lead to wasted effort for the volunteers who answer questions here in the community. It also makes it harder for others to find the solution when they're searching to see if a question they have has already been answered. Please be more careful to ensure you only post a given question once.
