Question on Question Shuffle

Hey, absolutely new to Articulate and still finding my way so this is probably an easy fix, but has me stuck.

I am creating a quiz which is either multiple choice of multiple answer. I used slides from the content library, Vitality in case you need to know as being new seemed the way forward to me. However when I shuffle Shuffle Answers it changes the slide buttons from this

 to this

Any help on correcting this, if even possibly.

Thanks in advance.

Shaun

  • Welcome to Storyline! There's a lot to learn, but it's a fun tool to work with!

I pulled in the Vitality Pick Many slide from the Content Library and changed Shuffle from None to Answers. I did not have the result you show here.

The buttons are labeled in the Timeline as Item 0# unless you renamed them. Do you see them there? If you do, is the Show/Hide icon greyed out? If it is, you can select that icon to make the object visible again.

Let me know if that helps!

The items do have numbers, I did not rename any and all objects are Visible. It wouldn't be because I duplicated the slide each time would it?

I got the same results as you did when I tested the quiz template. I have seen posts about 'shuffle' not working (not available? despite it being an option) for some quiz types. I would contact "Articulate Support" they will be able to tell you where it works/where it doesn't work/if there is a bug.

P.s. This resource may be useful (not for the 'shuffle' dilemma):  rundown and overview of quizzes

I have been told this is not an option for multi select answers. But thanks all for the help, very much appreciated.

ShaunFCL Thanks. Yes, it seems that shuffle answers only functions when the slide is reloaded. I had thought (maybe classic player era) that 'shuffle answers' worked for attempts too. I do have a workaround that does make the answers shuffle for each attempt -  it involves adding variables and triggers. If you are interested to see it I can send you a story file and instructions.
