Reset a video on return

I hope I am not recreating another discussion. I can't find the same exact discussion anywhere but I am sure it has come up at some point.

I have a course with two videos. The customer want's the videos to not have a seekbar (lock down the video) but when the user finishes the course, they want them to be able to go back to review the course and show the seekbar (not lock down the video).

Anyone with experience with this?

  • Hi Tina,

What might work for you is the "Allow drag after completion" setting on the Seekbar. This does not allow the learner to use the seekbar on a video until after it has completely played through the first time.

You can find this option under Player Properties>Player Controls>Seekbar>Allow drag after completion.

If this solves your question, please mark it Solved. Otherwise, feel free to ask a follow-up question.

  • Tina,

KendalRasnake-1 has a good idea with locking the Seekbar with changing the Player Controls. The other thing you may want to look at is a Mask over the video. Most of the time when you put a video in a slide you can start and stop the video just by clicking on it. To prevent this I put a mask over it. I insert a box over the slide and format the shape with 100% transparency. You can then set the box to stop on the timeline when the video ends.

Good luck and reach out if you need more help.
