Resizing Tables in Storyline 360

Is anyone else having issues resizing tables in storyline? I have followed the tutorial instructions, but no matter what I do, the table will not size any smaller. The table can be made larger with no issues. Can anyone suggest anything, or this is a storyline issue?

  • Hi Krista,

    Happy to help!

Resizing tables appears to be dependent on the content inside the cells as I was able to resize a table to the size shown in the screenshot.

I'd like to take a look at your project file to see why the tables aren't resizing the way you want them to. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case for testing? We'll delete it when we're done!

  • Yes, I have the same issue and always have. It seems to be one of those features they need to work on. I do not want guidelines and guardrails around the sizing of my tables. I work with a data analyst client, which means I CONSTANTLY need to add and manipulate tables. However, it is the one thing I HATE doing in Storyline, because I can't do it properly. I have resorted to using images and resizing them.

Can't resize this table for anything!

      Hi DigitallyDesign,

Thanks for sharing this experience, and you’re definitely not alone here.

What you’re describing reflects a current limitation in Storyline 360. Table resizing is constrained by the content inside the cells, which means tables can’t always be resized smaller even when that flexibility would be useful, especially for data-heavy projects. We’ve seen similar feedback from other authors who need more control and have had to rely on workarounds like images.

This is valid feedback, and I’ve shared it with our product team so they can see how the current guardrails impact real workflows. We really appreciate you taking the time to explain how this affects your day-to-day work.
