Rise - How to go back to the previous question In Rise quiz

I have a set of Multiple Choice questions as a pre-assessment for nurses. It appears that the learner cannot go back to a previous question once they have moved to the next question. Even if they do not answer the next question they cannot return to check, change or confirm their previous answer. This basic functionality is available in Storyline and Quizmaker but not in Rise. The code to move must be there as it automatically moves to the next question on Submit, so why can't they go back one question? Am I missing something (a setting?) or is this functionality just not available to the course developer since it appears to exist in the code and you already have next and previous buttons for galleries, quotes, processes, flashcards, so it exists?

    Hi Danny,

You are not missing any settings.

Sadly Rise does not have the functionality to go back to the previous question In a quiz.

  • Thanks Karl for the quick reply.

I thought it was so, but it seems like such a fundamental piece of simple code that already exists on other "blocks". I would love an official (technical) answer as to why this exists in some blocks and not others just for my own understanding of what I can and can't do with this tool. Don't get me wrong, I love Rise, I just want to understand how/why some of these little quirks work/don't work so I don't promise a client something that Rise cannot deliver (at the moment). ;)

I am working on a pre-assessment for nurses and the current paper version we use obviously allows the learner to go back over their answers before they submit.

Again, thank you for the feedback.

  • Does anyone know if this is a future functionality that they are considering adding to RISE? I have stakeholders asking for this feature to be included in their quizzes.

  • Hi there, Kathy,

Thanks so much for your question! I can see why you might need the option to allow learners to go back and review their answers before submitting the quiz. While that's not something on our feature roadmap right now, I'd be happy to share this need with our team. We'll let you know if anything changes!

  • We too, require this feature for our healthcare workers. We can't allow them unlimited attempts because of the nature of the continuing education credits, but at least allow us to provide them with the ability to check their answers.

  • Hi Carrie,

Thanks so much for reaching out. I've added your voice to this request. We’ll update this discussion if this feature makes it on our feature roadmap.

I hope that you have a great start to your week!

  • Agree with Carrie! We cannot allow unlimited attempts either, but the ability to go back and change an answer would be awesome, as well as perhaps a review of their answers at the end.

Hi! I agree with everything that was said above ^^ It would be great to  have a quiz feature that allows learners to go back to previous questions and review their questions before submitting.

Also, it would be amazing if we could add a timer to quizzes as well!!!

Hope to see these features come out in near future :) Thank you!!
