Rise Continue Button Not Unlocking After Storyline Block Completion

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone might be able to help.

I have a Rise course with multiple sections. At the end of each section, I’ve added a Continue button that’s set to “Complete All Blocks Above.”

When I preview the course, the Continue button works fine — except in any section that contains Storyline blocks. In those sections, the button doesn’t become available, even though the block has been viewed and completed. This used to work previously, but I noticed today that it no longer does, and I’m not sure what has changed.

It’s also affecting course completion in our LMS, since those sections aren’t being marked as complete.

Has anyone else come across this issue, and do you know how I might resolve it?

Many thanks in advance!

  • Hi everyone,

I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Build 3.103.35301.0, we’ve included important fixes. One of the bugs we’ve fixed:

    • Completing a Storyline 360 block added to a Rise 360 course didn’t enable the continue block.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help.

I am having this issue as well.
The work around I have found is to make sure to display the learning in full screen mode. For example- cornerstone got a new media player and the navigation takes up nearly half the screen. For some reason this affects the buttons and triggers. When I click the full screen button, the triggers and buttons work.

Thank you JC42 😊I have just tried this and it doesn't appear to work for me. Shame it would have been a quick fix

Have you tried amending the Tracking options in SL? Maybe add a trigger so it automatically marks as complete?

      Hi ChrisHurst1,
Yes, thank you :) It is exactly what I have done, and it worked.  The only trouble is that I have a lot to go through and republish 😂

I ran into the same problem. I believe it’s caused by the latest Storyline update. Reinstalling the previous version fixed the issue with the ‘Continue’ button not activating in Rise.

I am experiencing this issue as well, since installing the latest version of Storyline. I have republished some projects that were made a couple of days ago, where the Completion button was activating correctly, and it now fails to do so. Nothing has been changed in terms of triggers on the project.

Is there likely to be a fix for this, or do we just need to revert to a previous version? Is the version made available on July 22nd - 3.102.35072.0 the one that we need to revert to?

I did exactly what you did. Tested an old, working project using the latest version of storyline. The course complete trigger failed to activate the continue button in RISE. When I reverted to the version made available on July 22, the problem was fixed. I've also submitted a trouble ticket for this issue.

  • Hello everyone,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble with the Continue button!

I understand that some of you have already opened support cases with our team. I can confirm that this behavior is a bug in the product, and the temporary workaround is to use Storyline 360, Build 102. Our Engineering team is aware of the issue and is investigating it.

We’ll share updates here if there are any changes or fixes that might help.
