Screen Recording Software
Can anyone recommend screen recording software that allows me to toggle captions on/off for videos? Right now I have Camtasia and I have to "burn them in" for accessibility.
Our LMS is UKG. But I add captions in Camtasia.
So, you can still create the captions in Camtasia like you do right now, but just export them separately. You'll have two files: an MP4 and an SRT file. When you publish in Camtasia, make sure you go to the Captions tab and uncheck the box that says "Render video with open (always visible) captions.
To export the captions as their own file, select Export > Export Captions.
When you upload the video to your LMS, look for the option to upload a caption file. That's where you put the SRT file.
