Storyline 360 - Help with the Next Button state not changing to Normal with audio triggers.
Hello Community!
I’m experiencing an issue on a slide where the Articulate preset Next button doesn’t trigger after the action below is completed. Everything works as expected until I add audio to the layers. Could you please review the triggers and let me know what I might be missing? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Base Layer
- Audio to play automatically at the beginning of timeline.
- After audio ends on the timeline, the button layers can be clicked, one at a time. (Each layer has a hidden object on it to prevent clicking until audio ends.)
Layers 1-4
- Layers have to be clicked one at a time.
- Prevent the user from clicking on multiple layers until the audio end on each layer's timeline.
Base Layer
- All layers must be visited before the preset next button appears.
- All layers audio must be completed before the preset next button appears. (This is where the problem begins.)

You've got 2 sets of variables. Most of the triggers use the "LayerVisitedTab_" variables. But a few set the "AudioDoneTab_Layer" variables to True.
That's why the trigger to change Next to Normal never runs. The "LayerVisitedTab_" variables are never all True. See the attached file for an edited version of the slide.
By the way, you've got more triggers than you need. And the Next button would be hidden again if they user returned to the slide, because there are no conditions on that trigger.
Also, I suggest you reconsider how the layers close. Currently, the Slide Layer Properties are set to hide the layer when its timeline finishes. But that means the content disappears before the user has a chance to read it. You could add a Close button to the layers. Otherwise, perhaps just enable the buttons in order as the user views the layers.
Also, the audio for the 1st layer reads the text under the heading on that layer. The audio for the other 3 layers reads the layer headings. The audio should be consistent.

You're welcome! Pay it forward when you can. 😊
P.S. If my answer fixes the problem for you, I'd appreciate it if you would click the "Mark As Solution" button on my earlier reply (not this comment). Yes, selfishly, that ups the count of solutions on my Profile page. More importantly, it marks the issue as SOLVED, which might help others find the answer when they have a similar question.
