Storyline Choosing Alt Characters for Open Type Font

I searched a couple existing threads about this issue, but maybe starting a new discussion here could bring some explanation and clarification to why this is happening and/or if there are any solutions out there.

We are using an Open Type font in our project and by default, Storyline is choosing to use the alternate characters for some letters, rather than the default. As far as I know, there is no functionality within Storyline to select and change these alternate characters, correct?

The only workaround that I have come up with is to use the TTF or WOFF font file types that include the correct characters and no alternative characters. Does anyone else have any knowledge, experience, solutions for this issue?

  • Hi, Lee!

I have a question for you just to add some context. Are you seeing these alt characters after you've published your course?

If so, here is an article with some tips for working with fonts. In the "Testing Custom Fonts" section it mentions some things that can possibly be going on.

    Thanks for reaching out!
