StoryView Slide Advances

The slide advance drop-down box doesn't always work.  It gets stuck on Automatically.

This means that I have to go into each slide, click the gears, and choose "By User".

Is there a way to get "By User" to be the default.

  • If possible, don't create new slides; duplicate slides that are already set up. Frequently, it is a lot faster to delete and create unique content than to recreate settings and reusable items.

Yes, I do use PowerPoint. Is the solution to open Articulate Presenter through PowerPoint and change the slide properties there? Thank you!

  • Hello Aletha!

    Thank you for that clue.

By default, slides advance automatically upon completion in Presenter. However, you can change it so learners control when slides advance. Here's how:

    1. In Presenter, click Slide Properties and press Ctrl+A to select all the slides.
    2. Then, click the Advance hyperlink on the right side of the window.

When importing these slides, Storyline will respect the advance behavior from Presenter. I created this short video to show you the steps for Presenter and Storyline.

  • I'm glad that Katie was able to help you here, Aletha.

It looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.

I've seen several questions regarding the Slide advances field sticking on Automatically.

Indeed, I am here because that field is stuck on Automatically! So I reverted to 1960's solution of banging the TV on the side to fix it. For software, that means closing it out and re-opening it. Now the field works properly.
