Term-bank
Hi everyone!
I'm curious to know if Articulate has a 'Term-bank'/pronunciation library?
For context, I work with extremely technical products/projects containing lots of acronyms and terms that often show up in presentations and text-to-speech.
Other tools (like WellSaid) have a library to add terms and correct pronunciation and turn them on/off, which makes text-to-speech process way easier and hassle-free.
Does anyone know about this? Is there a plan to add this to the tool?
Thank you!
Hi Malmeida!
Happy to help!
Currently, Articulate 360 applications do not offer a dedicated term-bank, or pronunciation library feature. However, there are some related capabilities, like Storyline 360's support of Speech Synthesis Markup Language. With SSML, authors can adjust the speaking rate, modify pronunciation, add pauses, and more. Each time you require a custom pronunciation, you must insert SSML directly into the Text-to-Speech script inside Storyline.
Having a global pronunciation library where authors can save custom term settings, and apply them across projects, can be helpful. I've shared this as a feature request on your behalf!
We'll be sure to notify you if we release a future enhancement that helps.
