Text Box vs Shape vs Caption
Hi,
Let's say I want to create a rectangular box with some text in it and a background color.
- I can insert a text box, give it a background color
- I can insert a rectangular shape and type in some text
- I can insert a rectangular caption and type in some text
My question is what is the difference between these 3 types in terms of things I can do with them (triggers etc.). Are there benefit or drawbacks of using one over the other?
Thx!

I just searched up this exact question and was disappointed to see that no one answered.

Me too.

You can add triggers to any object. And you can add states to all three of those objects (text box, shape, caption), which means you can take advantage of built-in functions. For more info about that, see: PRIMER: Take advantage of built-in states | Articulate - Community
The main difference is that a text box is always a rectangle with right-angle (90°) corners. Shapes and captions provide more options.
