Text to Speech Voices
Hello all,
Any idea if there are voices available that do not sound so "robotic"? My customer's are looking for more "human" sounding voices. It looks like there were some new one's made available, but I don't see them in my drop down menu.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

which version of storyline you have installed?
with SL 3.79 you can select the voices
with SL 3.85 you can select the voices
Hi Karen!
Great question!
As Jurgen shared, starting with the September 2023 update, authors can generate realistic, natural-sounding text-to-speech narration with neural voices. This article goes into more detail on which languages support neural vs. standard text-to-speech.
Please let me know if you have any more questions!

I use wellsaidlabs and pretty happy with the voices. Elevenlabs (the third party software Articulate uses) has a free plan that you can try out. I think you are able to better tune the voices so they don't sound so robotic.

there is no free plan on wellsaidlabs
storyline uses Amazon Polly for TextToSpeech - not Elevenlabs

I don't know what ElevenLabs does for Articulate in detail, but Storyline TextToSpeech is pure Amazon Polly
