Why does Storyline still struggle so much with the Undo function???
It's just inexplicable how after all these years, I still find myself trying to undo certain actions with a grouped shape, and there is literally no changes being undone as I keep pressing the key. And I want to be clear that this is normally the case with grouped items (with icons) that are perhaps resized. It shouldn't matter. The undo function should undo any previous actions, and the fact that it doesn't do it drives me crazy beyond end sometimes. It's not realistic to expect users to remember to save every 5 minutes, and these kinds of inexplicable, frustrating flaws of the program always reappear the few times I forget to save or when I haven't saved in a while.
This is meant as feedback because I'm confident there's no solution really besides just saving and hoping for the best. Please fix this with future updates...I don't like to waste time recreating complex objects at work.
EDIT: Also very cool that the Publish window suddenly freezes, despite trying to publish one single slide, and now prevents you from saving before closing out of the program and glitch. Very cool..
Just to respond to potential answers I've heard before, software shouldn't have to be installed on the personal desktop to run properly. Not all workflows allow it...
EDIT: I will not be installing it on my personal desktop, but I lost a lot of precious time and progress by exiting out and not--for whatever reason--seeing the "auto-recovered" prompt in quite a while now. I really frequently wish there was an alternative to Storyline...

Hi EdwardAgadja170!
I'm sorry to hear that you've run into these setbacks while authoring in Storyline!
Allow me to address you're points individually.
- Undo functionality: We are tracking a bug in Storyline, affecting the undo action for a group of objects. However, this bug pertains to only certain elements of a grouping remaining static when the author clicks 'undo'. It's unexpected that the undo button, or keyboard shortcut won't function at all, as you've shared. Testing this on my end, I was unable to replicate the same issue. I'd be happy to help troubleshoot this further, and seeing a copy of the .story file as well as a screen recording of the behavior would be helpful. Feel free to upload those items here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
- Publishing:
- Are you experiencing this glitch when publishing to all formats, or is it specific to one?
- Does this issue occur with all .story files, or just one?
- Are you receiving an error message when the publishing process stalls?
- I understand you prefer working off of a network drive. However, I would like to highlight the importance of working locally. Working off of a network or shared drive can introduce latency as well as other unexpected behavior in Storyline. If you find Storyline still freezes when working with locally-stored files, please try a repair of your Storyline installation to see if that corrects the behavior.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
