How to set up spaced learning for e-learning
Hi there! I've read a lot about spaced learning, and I'm all in - but I'm at a loss on how to actually do it.
I typically use Rise with some Storyline blocks embedded. I'm hoping to make multiple scenarios and space them out, but I don't know how to actually do this. I'm thinking the learner would be able to do a max of 2-3 per day, then it would be "locked" for 24 hours until they can do more. I don't know how that would be feasible, so I'm open to creating multiple microlearnings where they automatically get assigned the next one 24 hours after completing the previous one.
Is this possible with Storyline? Or is this something that needs to be set up using the LMS? (We use Absorb).
Thank you!

As JudyNollet mentioned, we can’t force learners to complete a course in multiple sessions spread across a designated timeframe. Instead, you can create several independent microlearning modules and group them as a course or program in the LMS. The LMS can then send notification emails based on the planned schedule.
However, I don’t agree with the idea of locking the next module. Why discourage learners from moving forward and dampen their enthusiasm if they’re genuinely motivated to continue, especially when we work hard to encourage engagement?
A better approach is to explain the learning journey at the very beginning. Let learners know how it will unfold and prepare them for it. Then allow them to set their own pace, whether they choose to accelerate or follow the recommended spaced learning schedule.

Rise and Storyline don't have a built-in way to force a user to complete a course in multiple sessions spread across a designated timeframe.
It would be possible in Storyline with JavaScript. (I can't help with that.) You would have to be sure users know in advance what the time constraints are.
I think it would be better to set up completely separate courses that are assigned to be completed at different times. But you'll have to talk to your LMS folks about the available options for timing course assignments.
