Anyone have Transifex working with Xliff export/import

Does anyone use Transifex for localization/translation, with Articulate products?

We are testing with Transifex software but finding it almost impossible to export Xliff from Transifex and successfully uploading to Rise360. Every time we get the import failed message, with any comments or debug options..

Help and advice in terms of settings in transifex would be most welcome.

Thank you in advance.

  • Hello, Sam! While I don't have experience using Transifex, I wanted to suggest that you share your translated XLIFF file with our team. We can look it over to let you know if we spot anything out of the ordinary.

If that's something you'd be interested in, please open a case here and attach the XLIFF file to the case form.

Just also tried to upload to Transifex, but XLIF from Articulate Rise was not accepted.

  • Hi there, Chris.  We'd be happy to look at your translation issue with Transifex as well.

You can open a case here and attach the exported XLIFF file.  We can't troubleshoot it from Transifex's perspective, but at least we can check if something in the file is causing the translation software not to read it properly.

Panagiotis from Transifex was so kind to look into the XLIFF-file and this was his answer:

I tested the file you sent, and I uploaded it successfully in a test project of mine. What probably is the root cause of this issue, is that the file you shared with us has the following language code en_US as a source language, but your project has a different source language.

So, in order to upload this successfully, you need to have the same source language in your project.

Since you cannot change the source language of an existing project, you can create a new project with the source language as en-US.

I submitted a feature request (#03144262) to make it possible to set the source language in a Rise-project.
