Hi David. I am completely new into this eLearning world, so all I can say is how much this has inspired me. It's an absolutely wonderful illustration of what is possible to achieve with these tools, thank you! What steps did you follow to go from an idea into a product that completely captures the user?

I had this awesome new tool (Rise) to work with, and I had recently watched (and re-watched) the BBC Shetland mystery series.
I thought Rise would work well as a vehicle for storytelling, so I decided to use a story to teach geography. And with my final destination already in mind (thanks to my fascination with Scotland), I used geographical clues to lead the reader to the Shetland Islands, mixing in a bit of drama to propel the story.
I like to take inspiration from things around me, be that subject matter or design elements. If something is fascinating to you, it makes your job of crafting a course easier and more enjoyable, and since enthusiasm is contagious, you'll be more likely to capture your audience.
I look forward to seeing your elearning creations! One place you can always find inspiration and get supportive feedback is our weekly elearning challenge. You can check out past and present challenges here: https://community.articulate.com/hubs/e-learning-challenges
