Hello from Sweden

Hello, my name is Elda and I am located in Stockholm, Sweden.

I have studied and worked professionally on the field of e-learning and training for the past 15 years. I have mainly contributed to delivering e-learning solution within global health, dementia and elderly care, and for the past 6 years medicines safety. So, my focus has been quite health related.

I enjoy my work as I find it to be pretty creative and in the same time solution oriented. I try to understand what the problem is and how to provide solutions that are tailored and needs based.

I am trying to incorporate AI in my everyday work but I don't want it to either dictate my thinking. It has been a challenge to make best use of it on terms of not losing my personal voice and way of working. Sometimes, I feel, AI is too perfect in the solutions it offers and humans are definitely not perfect but this makes us who we are.

  • Hi Elda, so glad to have you here! I totally hear you about navigating the tension between keeping up with tools and not wanting them to change your style.

You might be interested in some of the AI tutorials we have, they might help you navigate what tools fit the balance you're looking for.

Another opportunity to practice it is our weekly eLearning Challenges!

I can't wait to see what you learn and share here.

  • Welcome to the community, pepelucci ! Always great to welcome community members from all over the world — some members of our team actually travelled to Stockholm last year for an Articulate event with a partner!

In addition to MaryEmma_Gary  comments, I wanted to share that I am in total agreement with you and feel some of the same things about incorporating AI into my workflow. In addition to an opportunity to practice, I think the weekly challenges or even our Share Examples area (under the connect tab) are great places to get to know more about how different people are really using AI and navigating some of those same challenges. I'd be curious to see more of what you're working on building and how you're weaving AI into it!

pepelucci (Elda), welcome to the ELH community!

You're already ahead of the curve regarding using AI thoughtfully and with keen intention.

    Why?

Your 15 years of eLearning & training experience pre-AI.

Those of us in the field before this tech came along (IMHO) have an advantage - we're accustomed to thinking of learning design as problem-solution.

As long as we never lose the "thinking & reasoning" part of our work, AI is simply another tool we use to get our projects completed efficiently.

    Enjoy exploring the community.

This is such an important clarification Thomas_Shayon! You're right, we're better able to avail ourselves of AI tools when we have a good understanding of the reasoning behind the ask.

That is very true Thomas. Thinking and reasoning is part of our work and understanding the context in the way that we humans do is what makes our work more valuable compared to AI. I think AI is very powerful but I would like to use its strengths in tasks where my abilities are limited compared to AI. I would like to have ownership of the work that I do and to understand what is being suggested by AI. I am afraid, if AI does take ownership of my work, I will end up only evaluating the end result. This is not the role I want to see myself in the future :)
