Comic style - Parents of Deaf Children, PODC.
For this challenge, I created a simple Storyline-based photo comic to encourage potential volunteers to consider joining Parents of Deaf Children, PODC. The aim was not to create a highly complex or over-designed interaction. I wanted the experience to feel clear, human and easy to follow. The story shows how a small volunteer action, such as offering a warm welcome, listening with kindness and signposting a parent to support, can make a real difference to a family who feels overwhelmed. I used a frame-by-frame comic layout with realistic photo-style visuals, speech bubbles, simple navigation buttons and PODC-inspired colours. The learner moves through the story at their own pace, following Maya’s journey from feeling unsure and alone to feeling welcomed, supported and more hopeful. The design includes a short introduction to PODC, a clear volunteer invitation, and a final call to action: you do not need to have all the answers to help.
