If your slides automatically advance, have you tried checking the Slide Properties to see if you have the 'Slide advances' setting set to 'Automatically'?
Try using the 'By user' setting if you have this set automatically. If making this change doesn't work, please share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can check if any other triggers need to be disabled to prevent your slides from proceeding to the next slide automatically.
