Engage interactions not linking to ppt

Apr 26, 2013

Hi, I have been working on editing a file that has several engage interactions.  I have modified all the engage interactions and published them back to the ppt.  Somehow, I am unable to open them from ppt. though I have published them back to the ppt.  The error message I get is "Presenter was unable to open project file," so clearly the link is missing.

Additionally, I tried to publish the entire file to see if that would resolve the issue and the error mesage I get is: "Error: Count not initialize Articulate Presenter Publish dialog"

Can you help please?

Hi Megan!

First, please make sure that you're working with local project files:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If the problem continues, please try to create a new Engage interaction and Presenter course. Do you see the same thing when inserting or modifying the new files?

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks,

Christine
