Currently, we don't support changing the flashcard background color. You might be interested in checking out this thread, though.
If you have Quizmaker, it might give you some other ideas for incorporating a flashcard-style theme. This might give you the flexibility you need with regard to colors, as the background color and player colors within Quizmaker can be changed to match whatever colors you're working with in your course. The thread referenced above includes a tutorial & source files to get you started, if you decide to go that route.
