Articulate 13 - Slide Text moving between slides
Oct 02, 2015
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue before, I’ve done a search but cannot seem to find anything (might not be using the right search terms) anyway.
The issue is as follows, say you add text, bulleted or even un-bulleted to a slide and do the same to the next slide.
One with fade-in animations and one without.
And you have each of the textbox's set to a pre-defined location (using master slides)
Publish to your desired location, and preview.
When switching back and forth between slides you notice that the text appears to jump in location between the slides (see attached published presentation)
It also happens if there is certain text in there as well, I’ve seen it happen with single quotes and the larger dashes (' and -). One fix for that was to copy to notepad and or remove any of the above from the text and copy back into PowerPoint.
But as for the animations, I haven't found a fix. Besides manually moving the text box's on each slide (not useful if you have a lot of slides).
Any ideas? Is this a bug or a result office?
I’ve seen this happen in the following test situations:
- Office 2007 32bit and Presenter 13.
- Office 13 32bit and presenter 13
- Office 13 64bit and presenter 13
- Windows 7, 64bit all up to date, office and OS.
- Local and network publishing.
Let me know if you need any more information.
Confused and curious

adding a new presentation with a few more examples.
Hi Will,
Thanks for sharing that information and a few examples of your published output. I'd want to confirm that you were testing this published output by viewing it in the intended environment vs. viewing it locally. Also if you'd like to share a copy of a Presenter package, we can take a look at the original set up in addition to how it's appearing once published.
Hi, Will -- Thanks for your question and welcome to the community! I see that you have attached your published output folder, but would you be able to create and share your Articulate package, please?
It's also important to be certain that you are working on files from your local C: drive in order to avoid corruption and erratic behavior. You may also want to run this simple repair to see if you find improvement.
HI Ashley, Christie,
no problem, i'm attaching the powerpoint (office 2013) and .ppta file. (filename: bullet_test_art.zip) from the 2nd example i attached.
and the 2nd one attached is of a version done on my local machine, developed on my D:\ drive (seperate partition of my main drive C:\) powerpoint (office 2013) and .ppta file. (filename: test_local.zip)
i'll run the repair shortly, just have to finish a few bits here.
let me know if you need any other info, thanks again.

Hi, Will - Thank you for your files! I will check them out as soon as possible and be in touch shortly with my findings. :)
Hi, Will -- I appreciate your patience as I reviewed your files. I saw the behavior you described when I tested your published output in the SCORM Cloud, however, I was not able to determine the root of the cause or a workaround to address the behavior. I intend to submit a ticket for further review of the matter with our QA team, and I will share any and all updates I receive here in the thread. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Hi Christie,
Thanks for that. the only work around i found was to manually move the text box's, but it was hit and miss, with a lot of test publishing and previews. The downside being if you are using master templates and reset all the slides, you have to move all the text box's again.
I also tried the fix here: http://en-uk.articulate.com/support/presenter-13/how-to-repair-articulate-studio-13 but unfortunately it had no effect.
hopefully a fix can be found.
i've attached a new version that was made from scratch again after the fix was applied, but it has the same errors.
Regards and thanks again.
Will
Thank you so much for the update and for the additional information, Will. I plan to keep you updated when I hear anything further. :)
No problem, i've done up another quick version and attached it (powerpoint, .ppta and published file) here with differnt symbols that would be commonly used: áéíóú<>/\';`€-&"!#~_$?
it may help, it shows which cause the error and which don't.

Great, Will! I will be sure that additional info is added to the QA ticket, as well. :)
