We rolled out phase 3 of our beta testing on June 5th, which included Engage and Quizmaker. We're currently working on Presenter now, so we're getting closer! Only one more to go :)
We are definitely releasing Studio '13 this year. That is what we are focused on in the current beta program. We cannot provide you with a specific quarter, though and I am sorry if that is not satisfactory for you. If you would like me to put you in touch with a member of our Sales team who can go over purchasing options with you, I will be more than happy to do so. All purchases of Studio '09 right now will receive a free upgrade to '13.
That is interesting news indeed. You cannot provide a specific quarter? Let me do that for you: it will be the 4th quarter, and probably late December. The software quality will be awesome. Apologies for the sarcasm, but that's just not how to treat existing customers with running projects and goals to fulfill.
We are now at a critical stage planning for our open enrollment season. Any news on the release date? I signed up to be a beta tester, but have not heard anything. We want to stay with Articulate, but now have to start looking at alternatives.
I am very glad to hear that beta testing of Presenter has started, and that you are in the 3rd round of beta for Engage and Quizmaker. Like many of the other posters in this thread the new version can't come out soon enough for me.
My production environment most closely resembles @Janet's but we don't need the HTML5 component as of yet. What we need is a stabilized platform.
Since getting Articulate my company has gone through 2 updates of PowerPoint, IE and Windows. My entire company has now has Office 2013, and although we convinced them that the design team needed PowerPoint 2010, there isn't really a way to remove PPT 2013 from the machine. The computer just doesn't like having two versions of PPT installed and I suspect that might be the root of the instability in our .ppta files. Or it may be how files are being stored or updated though Office 365.
The backend of PowerPoint handles templates and themes differently in 2013, and Office 365 just seems to make it even more of a challenge. I don't envy the developers, but I do hope they are making good progress.
I think Peter put it best when he said, "I'm sorry we can't give you an exact date for Studio '13's official release. It has to do with wanting to release a finely-tuned product..."
Hi Joseph and Welcome to E-Learning Heroes! We are still in beta testing and have no release date available at this time.
I'm so sorry, and a little surprised, to hear so many complaints about Articulate's Software development process.
I'm just afraid that many can't fully understand html5 implications, and and above all I think that is not well understood that html5 IS NOT MADE FOR E-LEARNING.
So why blame Articulate staff for working hard and for long to give us an excellent piece of software as always.
I also have demanding customers, everybody wants courses on iPads, but the authoring software is not the only factor to consider. We all should focus on scorm/tin can evolution, instead, and on how LMSs are involved; or we could meanwhile excercise using storyline to build strightforward "Tablet-oriented" courses on the way.
I'm curious to hear about happy inspring users that have successfully converted PowerPoint to SCORM html5 production courses, without these being simple slides with possible audio-narration issues... I truly respect inspring effort to provide better and better solutions, they have really worked hard to "shorten the distance" but as Inspring converter 7 came out with great announcements, I gave it a trial and run into some crashes.
That's why I'm used to welcoming deeper sw analysis and testing. Not only Articulate has its way to go! consider, for example, the Adobe Edge promises, and its partial flops still due to html5 limits.
So, let's support our beloved Articulate Staff. Being a beta tester, still sworn to secrecy, I can assure you that Studio '13 will be another game changer, together with Storyline.
I'd like the opportunity to participate as beta tester for Studio 13, if you have any more places avaiable in your program. I'm keen to upgrade from Studio 09.
I work for a medical education company, and have been using Articulate Presenter 09 for some time. I would greatly appreciate a beta invite to Articulate Presenter 13, as I can offer a lot of help with bugs and other issues that beta is meant to workout. Please message me with information on how to become a beta tester for the new Presenter 13 software. Along with a PM here, you may also email me at: BadRelative [AT] Gmail [DOT] com
Also, is there a complete feature list for Presenter 2013 that I can review?
Hi Scott and John! I actually do not know what that percentage is. Just being honest with you. Perhaps someone tied closer to the Beta program may be able to answer that for you.
Any updates on the beta test progress for Studio 13? I have begging my way into the beta and am not above bribes if someone thought it would help.
We have 5 full time developers and a big project starting it would be lovely to know if we should hold out for Studio 13 or convert to Storyline. There are pros and cons to both, but for Studio we are just guessing about functionality.
Hi Lara, it is still underway. Each phase of beta testing has focused on an individual product within the Studio Suite (and we are on Beta 4). It's getting exciting around here! Hope you have a great day!
Any news on this? I check checking back but the updates do not seem to be coming very quickly. Are we going to see Articulate Studio 2013 or is this getting pushed to 2014?
We don't have a release date for Studio '13 but our team is hard at work doing beta testing. If you'd like to follow along with updates on a release date, I'd suggest subscribing to this blog. And in case you're curious what new features will be included, here is a preview.
We'll also update this thread with any release information, so if you'd like you can "subscribe to replies" at the top of the page.

Thanks for your interest Nadia.
I would love to added to the beta tester list if you're still recruiting.
Ditto, I would like to be in the beta.
Howdy
Another beta tester available if required!
sf
I would like to be in the beta if you still need testers
Thanks for the interest John, Simon, and Diana!
Purely out of interest, what percentage of those who applied to be beta testers were successful?
I applied right at the start of the call to arms, and heard nothing :(
Same here.

That is great news! Someone please send chocolate and treats to the development team. We are rooting for them.
Let's all become beta testers!

Any idea on a price for an Articulate '09 to '13 upgrade? We need to submit budget requests this month. Thanks! (Loving '13 as a beta tester!)
