Articulated presentations VERY tiny in IE and Firefox.
Aug 28, 2012
Hi,
We use Articulate Presenter 09.
We are getting reports from our students about our articulated presentations showing up super tiny in the screen when using Firefox and IE. So small that they can't be read, nor can they navigate. I'm guessing it may be related to a recent flash update, cause I'm not having the problem, and neither are my co-workers, and we don't yet have the latest flash update.
Regardless, we'd had similar problems a few months ago, but only with IE, this time around it seems to happen in Firefox as well. Our "easy fix" used to always be "Try Firefox". But this time that may not fix it for our students. It seems that Google Chrome is working properly with our Articulate files though, so we have that to tell them.
It doesn't affect everyone, which is why I'm guessing it's a problem with a specific combination of browser version and flash version.
Has this problem been noticed by anyone else?
Is there a fix beyond asking them to use Chrome?
Our Blackboard support tells us that while Chrome may fix this problem with Articulate, it isn't entirely compatible with Blackboard 9.1, so it's not the best fix for us.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Caelyn,
So this only happening on courses run through Blackboard? I know you said only some of the users are experiencing the issue, but it may be worth testing the courses through SCORM Cloud to see if you can replicate the issue there. If it happens in SCORM Cloud, there may be an issue with the course, in which case please open a ticket with our support team. But if it isn't able to be reproduced in SCORM Cloud, I'd guess the issue is with Blackboard.
I'm having the same issue. In order to make some other things work, i had to set the document mode to standards instead of quirks in IE. Now, all the courses are tiny! What did you do to make this work? We are also loading these as a web object.
We never did find a resolution. The problem is intermittent and cannot always be replicated. We hadn't heard anyone complain about it for a while, but just two weeks ago we had another complaint. I'm guessing it was just one particular version of IE, so we only get this complaint from those who had that particular version. It was easier for us to simply tell those who have the problem, to use Firefox instead.
