I am trying to customize text labels and am following the instructions: Player Template to Text Labels, typing in the custom labels, and saving. However, when I create the player, the customized text labels are not there. It is as if they are not saving. Is there another way to customize text labels that will ensure that they save? Or is there a step I am missing?
Can you create a new folder on your Desktop and publish your presentation to that new folder? In that publish window, make sure that you're selecting the newly saved player template that contains your updated text labels. Then, test the presentation that you published and see if the issue is resolved.

I've got the same problem. I'm working with PowerPoint 2007, have also checked the add-ins and somehow neither the customised labels seem to be saved nor a small change I've made in the colour.
If you update your Text Labels in your player template and do a File -> Save as, you may find that your text labels are not updated in your new player template. This issue was addressed in Update 4. You can learn more here:

Hi Gwen and welcome to Heroes,
It sounds like the Communicator add-on is disabled in PowerPoint. To resolve the issue, use the method in the link below:

If you continue to have problems, please let me know.
Thank you, Brian.
Unfortunately, that is not the problem. The add-ins are checked and not disabled. Any other ideas?
Gwen

Thanks again. That didn't work either. I will submit a support case.
Hi Brian,
I've got the same problem. I'm working with PowerPoint 2007, have also checked the add-ins and somehow neither the customised labels seem to be saved nor a small change I've made in the colour.
I've also tried publishing to a new folder.
Can you help?

Has a solution been found for this issue? I am having the same problem. Any changes I make to the template text labels will not save.
Hey Tim,
Are you fully updated? Looks like this may be it:

You can download the latest version (Studio '09 Update 8 which also contains cumulative fix) here:

Let me know...
Hi Peter,
I don't think the issue is related to running an old version of Presenter since I am using the current version V6.3.1103.112 Pro. Any other ideas?
OK, I'd give this a shot:

and if that doesn't do the trick, I'd recommend sending us your files so we can have a close look at them:

Sorry about the frustration, Tim. We'll do our best to resolve it.
Nope, everything is enabled in Power Point. What files do you need?
Hey Tim,
No luck, eh? Go ahead and zip-up the entire presentation and send it our way:

We'll start getting to work on it as soon as it's received. Thanks!
