Deleted Audio Files Won't Go Away
Mar 27, 2013
I've deleted the audio files but the slide plays as if the audio is still there (no sound but the duration shows 4 + minutes). When I go to the Audio Editor it shows the total duration of the file as if all the audio files are still there (over 18 minutes worth) even though the audio files were removed. When I "delete" the time in the Audio Editor, it shows the total duration is less than 5 minutes--but when I click Save and Close then reopen, it's back to over 18 minutes duration again. How can I "reset" my slides so they advance in a more timely manner?
Nothing is disabled in my PPT Add-Ins and all the Articlate features are shown on the ribbon. I'm using PPT 2007 on Windows 7 Professional.

Hi Sharon,
Can you take a look a the following article and let me know if the methods listed resolve the problem, please?
Articulate Support - Change the duration of slides that previously had audio
Thanks Christine--the Sync Animations tool worked. I was going to try the add "silent" audio files but thought there had to be an easier way to do it!

Awesome! Very glad to hear that worked, Sharon - and quickly too!
I hope you have a great day!
Christine
Okay, I'm having the same problem with an older project. I've deleted the audio file, imported a new one, but the slide time won't change. I even tried to change the audio file name but the old time persists.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Hi Sharon!
The previous article that Christine shared did not help you this time? That should still be the solution for the issue that you are having. Have you tried the sync animation?
Last time my slide had no audio. Now I have audio but the duration is about a fifth of the time shown on the player--so there is several minutes of silence. The article indicates the sync animation is used for a slide that doesn't have audio. Are you saying it can be used with audio?
