Determining the Completion and Tracking settings from just the SCORM zip file?
Mar 10, 2017
Hi,
I maintain a Moodle site with numerous courses containing Presenter-generated SCORM objects (226 at last count) created by my colleagues or others.
I will often take calls from learners puzzled why Moodle wont show them having completed a SCORM object in the course, in analysing the issue the one aspect beyond my control, or knowledge, is "what was set in the Completion and Tracking window in presenter?"
I don't want to be "that guy" that asks my colleagues to document every SCORM object's Completion and Tracking settings somewhere, creating more files that ultimately will never be in-sync after several updates anyway. I was hoping there was something in the zipped files that documented the settings. I have searched every text-supported file in an Articulate-generated SCORM object and can't see anything close to what I'm looking for, like a minimum-slides-read count or score. Has anyone else resolved this or can suggest something?
Thanks in anticipation!
Greg

Hi Greg! Our team did some digging with different SCORM formats, and we came up with what might be a partial clue for you. If the course is published for SCORM 1.2, you'll see a mastery score in the lmsmanifest.xml file. It will look like this:
<adlcp:masteryscore>80</adlcp:masteryscore>
You'll know that the course was set to track by quiz result, at least. I hope that's somewhat helpful!
Thanks Crystal, well that's a start! Much appreciated, but it seems like I'll have to be "that guy" and ask the elearning developers to manually document the completion criteria for the benefit of us who must provide support on their published courses. Cheers!
