What about inserting the video as a web object? Or are you hoping to hyperlink to an external site and have that site start playing the video automatically?
I was looking to do the same thing. I have a video I would like to input that once the slide like the video will play. I have tried the video button and keep getting an error stating that I need the embedded link? Where would I get this?
You would want to be sure that you are adding the video as shown here. Once you add the embed code (found with YouTube, Vimeo videos), you will have the option to make the video play automatically as you are mentioning.
Where is the video hosted that you are wanting to add?
I can add a YouTube video using a Web Object, but I cannot embed a link using the Video tab. I am using Articulate '13 and I was referencing the book "E-Learning Uncovered: Articulate Studio '13" and followed the steps to embed a video. When I tried to embed a video link using the steps Video > Add Video Slide from Website, I received an error "A video cannot be inserted from this embed code. Verify that the embed code is correct and then try again".
Yesterday, I could not embed a link in PowerPoint 2013 and I needed to install two updates. I installed the updates and was able to embed a video link in a PPT slide. Since Articulate is an add-in for PowerPoint, I figured if I fixed the PPT issue that it would resolve the Articulate issue...but that is not the case. I reinstalled Articulate '13 to make sure the latest update was installed (wondering if it did not recognize the PPT update) and I still received an error.
Do you have an ideas on how to make this work? The steps for Add Video Slide from Website are simple and I would like to teach that method to our users.
I received this message when I tried to save to my desktop. Would you be interested in having a Lync meeting and I can share my desktop? If you send me your email address, I can setup a meeting and the Lync 2013 Web App will run within your browser.
My co-worker and I are headed to the Learning Solutions Expo in Orlando. Are you going to it?
I am trying to view and or edit in quizmaker and I keep getting an error saying that articulate presenter has stopped working. Can you please help me with what to do? We are running articulate 2013 presenter and I am using internet explorer 10. Please help!! This worked earlier this week and now I cannot even get it to open. I am trying to get this published to LMS asap.
Are you experience difficulty in just this file or across files?
If it's just the one file, please check out the following:
Open a new, blank presentation in PowerPoint.
Go to the Home tab, click the drop-down arrow beside New Slide, and choose Reuse Slides.
In the Reuse Slides panel, click the Browse button and choose Browse File.
Browse to your original PowerPoint file and click Open.
At the bottom of the Reuse Slides panel, mark the box to Keep source formatting.
Right-click the first slide in the Reuse Slides panel and select Insert All Slides.
Save the new presentation and republish.
Note: Articulate resources, such as audio and video, will need to be inserted again into the new presentation. You may need to export the narration from your original presentation, then import it into the new presentation.
If it's across files, I would advise that you conduct a repair of your software. Be sure that you are working locally as well.

Hi Peter,

Hi Diana!
This thread is a bit dated. Are you utilizing Presenter '09 or Presenter '13?
You are wanting to add a video to a slide? Is this a file that you have or a web link?
Hi, It is a web link. I have presenter 13. My ultimate goal is to have the video play instantly when the slide starts.
Thanks for the information Diana!

How would I get the embedded code?
Hi Diana!
On YouTube, for instance, it is located in the 'share' section under the video and you will see the Embed code:
https://www.erieinsurance.com/images/Flash/legacy-of-service-video.html
Can you tell me what it is for this?
Hi Diana!
Check out this documentation and just use the URL that you provided.
I apologize for not understanding your question initially :)

Would you be able to share the link to the video that you are adding?
I'm assuming you are following the instructions as shown here for adding the video.
Here is the link for the YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7hB9m2uNac
I am following these steps.
Thank you for sharing Tanya!
I'm not having any difficulty adding this video. My sample file is attached.
Be sure that you are doing a copy/paste of the embed code below the video.
Can you embed any other video or are you only having difficulty with this project?
