No, the built-in lightbox style (incl. the close button cannot be changed, unless you create a slide layer and make it look like a lightbox and then style it anyy way you like.
Thanks for reaching out! Yes, that's correct. You'll still have to use a slide layer if you'd like a custom lightbox. You can read all about lightboxes here!
Just a comment re: lightboxes and customization... I've found many uses for lightboxes as well as for customizing layers to create the effect. IMO there are many reasons for using one in favor of another. However, there have been so many times when I wanted to use a lightbox rather than a customized layer, but was forced to use the layer option simply due to the fact that the program doesn't allow me to hide the close 'X' on the lightbox. It pretty much precludes me from using lightboxes at all because I need to ensure the learner stays long enough to absorb the material. Has this been submitted as a feature request before?
Thanks for reaching out! We appreciate your feedback. We don't have a feature request to fully eliminate the red X on a light box slide, but you can share this with our team, here.
Please let me know if there is anything else we can help with!

Hi Monique! Looks like Michael has addressed your question and provided a helpful alternative that may help you :)
I usually use the method Michael suggested - works great and much more control over the contents and navigation.
Thanks for popping in to share as well Stephanie :)
Thanks all. I am using Michael's suggestion as well.
Hi, all:
Is it still the case that you have to create a slide layer to get rid of the red X? This thread is four years old. Just curious. Thanks!
