Notes in the player question

Dec 10, 2013

Is there any way to hide certain text in the notes field in powerpoint from showing in the player's note tab?

I tried adding comment tags, like:

<!-- some text -->

/* some text */

but they don't hide anything when published.

We usually have to show the notes tab, but since we have multiple people touching our files, we put marks in the audio text to signifiy when an animation should appear, and sometimes comments are added in the text.  Right now, we leave those in until we publish for final SCORM packages and we tediously remove all the extra stuff in the notes section.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Bob,

It certainly sounds like something that could be pretty useful - but I'm not having any luck finding any information on a command or option to filter out selected text in the notes.

I'm going to do some additional research and report back when I have more information.

In the meantime, if you happen to find another method that works, please share!

Thanks!

Hi Bob,

I was able to find some additional information on this. Currently, it's not possible to filter out or hide specific text from the notes panel.

However, as I mentioned before, this is certainly something I think would be a very helpful feature. I would recommend heading over to the feature request form. You can share your suggestion directly with our development team through that page. Please be sure to be as detailed as possible. The more information we have, the better we're able to gauge the usefulness of a feature.

I'd still be interested in hearing any additional suggestions.

Thanks and have a great day!
