PowerPoint frequently hanging/getting disabled
Jun 12, 2012
I'm using a trial copy of Presenter '09 with Power Point 2007. In the 26-odd days of my trial, PowerPoint has stopped responding several times complaining about the Articulate add-in -- and the system has disabled the add-in 3 times now. I really don't want to have to re-enable the add-in every other week.
I meet all of the compatibility requirements (Windows 7 32-bit, 4 GB of RAM, 2.4 GHz processor, plenty of available disk space). I've looked through the forums and FAQs trying to find possible remedies for this. Has anyone else had this trouble starting out - and any ideas what to try? My windows system auto-updates, so I have all the latest patches.
Thanks,
Deborah

Hi Deborah and welcome to Heroes! Sorry to hear about the difficulty. I would suggest making sure that the files you are using are located on your local drive (your C drive) not a network drive. Working on a network drive can cause erratic behavior. So for example:
C:\Users\Justin Wilcox\Documents
If you are still having difficulty, you may want to try repairing Microsoft Office.
Thank you for the suggestions. I do all my development on a local disk, so that's not the problem. Microsoft did make one repair when I ran the diagnostic, so hopefully that will do the trick!
