I'm trying to upload a YouTube video (TED talk) into a Presenter course. In Articulate, I click on Video/Add Slide Video from Website. But when I paste the link into the box, I get the attached error saying "A video cannot be inserted from this embed code."
I notice the instructions say to copy the "embed code" from the website. Is that different than the web link? If so, where do I get that? Or am I having this problem for another reason?
Thanks for any help - I'm up against a deadline and need to have this working this week!
Hi Cindy, the web link is different than the embed code.
The web link is the address that shows up in the address bar of your browser.
To insert a video into Presenter using the web link, I believe you have to insert it as a Web Object.
Just copy the complete address from your browser and paste it into the address field in the Web Object box. You won't be able to preview it, though. You'll have to publish before you can test it.
Thanks for your advice, Dave. That got me closer, but it's still not working. In the screenshot attached, you can see it put an error message over the image, and the only way to get it to play is to play it outside of the course.
But from the screenshot you sent, I located the Ted Talk and successfully embedded it in Presenter. I think I misread your original question, and focused on the web link.
Try this ...
Run the Ted Talk video, and right-click on the video. From the box of options, click, "Copy embed code." Paste that into Presenter (Video/Insert video from website). It'll look like this:

Thanks Dave and Alyssa. Dave - I couldn't find "copy embed code". When I right click on the video itself, I just see Read Aloud or Print. Or if I click at the title, there's an option to Copy Link, but nothing about embed code. So we just decided to not include the video in the training and share the link separately.
I would like to be able to figure this out for future attempts though. Where exactly on the video do you right click to find the embed code?

Hi Cindy, that's a new one for me.

I just did this, and it worked fine.
I hope that helps!

Hi Cindy,
The video may be locked down to prevent embedding, but if it's not you'll find it in the Share options.
I recorded a quick Peek 360 screenrecording to walk you through where I found it on a video.
