Studio 09 and Studio 13 licenses

Dec 10, 2013

My company has been using Studio 09 for several years and is looking to upgrade to Studio 13. However, we will still need to retain Studio 09 on at least one computer so we can make revisions, etc. to the recent projects or those currently under construction while we make the transition. I know that we can't have both instances on the same computer. Bummer.

My question is: When we upgrade to Studio 13, does it invalidate the Studio 09 license or should we purchase a fresh license since we want to retain the Studio 09 application on the one computer?

Hi there Gayla!

Purchasing a Studio '13 license does not invalidate or cancel the Studio '09 license. If you're using a standard license, you can still install and activate both versions, just not on the same machine.

There are some reports of successfully running the software on a virtual machine, so there's access to both versions on the same machine, but this isn't officially supported.

If you're using a corporate or concurrent license, I would recommend reaching out to your local account manager or our Success Team. They'll be able to assist with the details and options available for this type of licensing.

I hope this helps!
