Unable to Replace Existing Audio with New Audio File

Aug 03, 2018

Hi,

We are using Articulate Studio 360, latest version. We import audio file. When we try to replace the audio with new audio--either by replacing, or by removing and inserting--the old audio continues to play in the course. It's as if the audio file within the PPTA file is not being replaced. If we are persistent in replacing/exiting/removing/trying again we can usually get the new audio to "stick."

This problem has been happening for about a week.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi Keith,
I'd come across this audio file replace issue in earlier versions of the Storyline, but not in 360. Typically, I used to give a different file-name to the new audio file and then import that to Storyline timeline. Also, if you're creating a scorm package, delete the existing one - and then publish the project afresh.

Hi Keith,

As Deepak said, it's a behavior we had seen in earlier versions of Studio but not in the latest versions of Presenter 360. I'd want to make sure that you were replacing the audio from the Presenter ribbon and not the Powerpoint audio options, as we don't support Powerpoint audio.

Also, when audio is missing or lost, there are a few other causes detailed here that may help you.

Thanks, Keith for confirming.  So it sounds like this is happening on one machine in particular.  Did any of the information in the article that Ashley shared apply to your setup?  If you want to attach a screenshot of what your files look like in File Explorer, that might be helpful.

One quick note -- when you reply via email, it will include your signature with contact information.  You can edit it out here if you'd like!

Hi Kate!

Sorry, you're running into this snag! Do you see this with multiple project files or just this one?
