Correct solutions appear with less contrast in the font
May 16, 2014
My students told me that the correct solutions on the multiple choice items my recent quiz can be easily identified because they are displayed with less contrast in the font compared to the other solutions (the distractors). I checked this and could confirm it. The correct solutions are displayed in the same font but appear somewhat lighter - in my slide view as well as in the preview and in the published quiz - independently from the position they are displayed in the order of the given answers. I have changed the font but the effect remains. Of course I could provide screenshots of this phenomenon. By carefully checking the font attributes of each answer, I could not find any difference. The visible difference between the correct and the false solution is very small but my university students found that easily.

Hi Ernst!
Would you be able to share your .quiz file here for me to have a look at? A screenshot of what you are seeing would be helpful as well.
Hello Leslie,
thank you for responding to my problem. I am going to send you the screenshot. It is the last answer on this slide that looks a little bit different, not really severe but the students' eyes see it. I guess I need another post to send you the quiz as an attachment.
Hello Leslie,
it's me once more. The quiz file is attached. Let me tell you that I haven't had this problem in my other quizzes and that I don't experience the problem now when I make new quizzes. My workaround procedure is that I copy the lines of my quiz to a new file (into a new template) and all works fine. However, when I copy the whole task, the problem is copied too.
Kind regards,
Ernst
I'm seeing the same behavior. I would simply recommend that you create new as you are doing.
Yep, thank you!
