Email results
Jul 21, 2012
I am attempting to create a quiz that emails its results. The quiz is embedded in a Presenter lesson.
I see the following results:
Chrome: no email send pops up -- the button appears not to do anything
IE: after security warnings, the email to be sent pops up sending to the right place but contains no content.
FireFox: A warning pops up indicating that information is being sent over an unencrypted connection and could be read by a third party -- offering a cancel/continue button -- the continue button does nothing - in fact seems to hang the application.
Is there any browser that this will work on? Is this a settings issue -- what settings need to be set to allow this feature to function.

most modern browsers prevent thsi type of activity by default I think this is the reason articulate removed this functionailty from storyline
So it doesn't work on any browser and no settings can make it work?
Hi Brian,
Like Phil said, due to web browser, Flash Player, and email security issues, the email results feature has become more and more difficult to support. We suggest that you thoroughly test the email results method in your environment to find what works so you can try to relay that information and those settings onto your users.
Some of our customers are successfully sending Quizmaker results via PHP or by using a database, but these methods are not supported by Articulate. You can learn more about these methods here:

And the ideas in this thread have proven to be popular with our users as well, though it's also unsupported.
Are there any workarounds to this in storyline? We have users who need to email results to their supervisors and need something reliable. Are there any options here besides printing results?
