When a learner fails a quiz, we want to give them three choices, quit, re-take quiz or re-take course. I can see how to route them to a slide if they fail but that seems to rule out letting them just quit. Am I missing something?
You should have a finish button with the option to Close the browser window when the learner clicks it.
And if the quiz is embedded within a Presenter file, you can also enable the Exit tab within the Presenter Player Properties. Let me know if this helps, and if you're still having trouble, we'll keep digging!
Yes, I'm able to close the browser, i.e. end the course, but I'd like them to have the option to quit the course (close the window) OR re-start the course (go to a certain slide) and these choices seem to be attached to the FINISH button. So it appears I can offer either option but not both?
Ah, that makes sense. You're correct--if you wanted to use the "Finish" button to route users back to the beginning of the course, then you won't be able to also use that button to close the browser window.
What link were you using in the Go To URL field to restart the course? Could you possibly use that link as a hyperlink elsewhere on the results slide?
Feel free to share your Articulate Package with me, and I'd be happy to take a closer look!
I didn't use the URL. In the QUIZ PROPERTIES I set it to go to the first slide instead of close window....but then that meant that they can't exit the course until they pass the quiz and I don't want that. And I'm dubious about using the URL since that might/could/would change and they don't want to have to update the course. PLUS I can either use a URL OR tell it to close the window. Bottom line is I think I'm facing and either/or, and that's certainly a major problem. It's easy enough for the learner to sign out and come back in when they want to.
