a few questions regarding quiz ...

Nov 06, 2017

Dear all,

I have added 5 quiz questions to one of my projects. Slide 1 is a drag'n'drop question, I created from "Freeform question". The other questions are standart "built in graded questions".

I want learners to have two attempts for each question, which I register in the "Attempts field". Yet when I try the quiz myself, I seem to have endless attempts. Why could that be?

Another question refers to the result slide (Slide 1.6). When I use the button "See Quiz & answers again" (Quiz & Lösungen nochmals ansehen). It shows me that questions were incorrectly answered, even though they were correct. The only questions correctly shown is question 5.

And why it doesn't show the correct answer, e.g. for the drag-n-drop question on the first slide?

Thanks in advance for your support and best regards
Roland

Thanks for sharing your file with me, Roland!

You're seeing unlimited attempts on because you have a "Jump to slide [current slide]" trigger on the Try Again layer. This resets the answer choices and the attempts.

Simply delete the "Jump to slide [current slide]" trigger, and that will fix the problem. However, now the answer choices will not be reset.

Also, the "Reset to Initial State" setting caused problems during quiz review. All previous answers were removed, and that caused the Incorrect quiz review feedback to appear. You'll want to use the "Resume saved state" setting instead.

Have a look at those changes I made in your file, and let me know if it works for you!

Hi Alyssa

That's just grand! Thanks a lot for the explanation and the correction.

My reviewers feedbacked to me, that in the quiz they would expect that after a wrong answer the question should be reset to the initial state, so they can start over again. I understand that this removes answers already given.

So it seems, that I'll have to reinstruct my learners, that they will still see the incorrect answer, on their 2. attempt.

Thanks again and have a great day
Roland
