Accessibility Options: Were there some, or did I dream it?
Feb 18, 2013
Hi Group
Tab order et al. have been noted quite a bit in the forums, but when I first played with Storyline many, many months ago, I seemed to remember finding an object-level properties panel that would let me set the name of the object and whether it was visible to screen readers and other accessibility agents - e.g. to 'make invisible' to screen readers a separator line or something that looked pretty but would just get in the way from an accessibility navigation point of view.
Hunt as I may, I can't find that properties panel in Storyline now.
Did I dream it, has it been taken away, or am I just not looking in the right place?
IF it does exist in the form that I remember, if an object is made invisible to a screen reader, would that also take it out of the tab order?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can confirm or deny this panel's existence.

Pete,
Access the object's "Size and Position" dialog box and select the "Alt Text" tab. And, yes, if you uncheck "Object is visible to accessibility tools" on that dialog, it will no longer be included in the Tab sequence.
Oh, yeah. There it is!
I thought I was going nuts. I only stumbled on it by accident when I was poking into corners, ages ago.
Thanks for finding it for me again, Steve.
